Mount Zion, the city of truth

In several Scriptures mount Zion is described as a spiritual city, and a city of truth. Those who dwell in her have no guile in their mouths. Things said of Zion apply to those who believe in Christ, the Church, not to the earthly city, or to ethnic Jews who deny that Jesus is the Christ. When Jesus ascended to heaven, after his resurrection, he was made Christ. [Acts 2:36] At that time, mount Zion and Jerusalem were established in the top of the mountains, above the hills, in heaven, as foretold in Isa. 2:1-2. Since then, all the Scriptures about Zion, such as those listed below, apply to the Church.

Christ reigns on mount Zion

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. [Psa. 2:6]

Christ reigns on mount Zion forever

In that day, saith the Lord, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the Lord shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever. [Micah 4:6-12]

Mount Zion is the city of the great King

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. [Psa. 48:2]

Jerusalem is the city of the great King

But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. [Matt. 5:34-35]

God dwells in Zion

The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the Lord dwelleth in Zion. [Joel 3:16-18, 21]

God fills Zion with righteousness

The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness. [Isa. 33:5]

God does not dwell in temples made with hands

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? [Acts 7:48-49]

Mount Zion is "a house of prayer for all people"

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. [Isa. 56:7]

Mount Zion and Jerusalem are established in the top of the mountains, above the hills

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. [Isa. 2:1-2]

In Zion, God's people sing together and "see eye to eye"

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion. [Isa. 52:8]

There is no guile in their mouths

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. ... These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. [Rev. 14:1, 4-5]

Those who dwell in Zion speak the truth in their hearts

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. [Psa. 15:1-3]

They worship God in spirit and in truth

Zion dwells with the daughter of Babylon

Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me. [Zech. 2:7-9]

God's people dwell in Zion and in Jerusalem

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee. [Isa. 30:19]

Zion is God's people

And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people. [Isa. 51:16]

The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies

In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain. I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. The true tabernacle is pitched by God

The saints are those whose names are written in the book

And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
