Psalm 6. Column 3:19-36
[19] I thank you, O Lord,
For you have redeemed my life from the Pit,
[19-20] And from Sheol Abaddon you raised me to an eternal height,
And I walk about on a plain without limit,
[20-21] And I know that there is hope for that which you formed
from the dust into an eternal community.
And a perverted spirit you purified from the great sin,
[21-22] So that it might be be stationed in rank with the host of
the holy ones,
And so that it might come together with the congregation
of the sons of heaven.
[22-23] And you cast for man an eternal lot with the spirits of
knowledge
So that he might praise your name together in rejoicing,
And so that he might recount your wonderful deeds before
all your works.
[24] And I--a creature of clay,
What am I?--kneaded with water!
And how am I rockoned?
And what is my strength
For I stand within evil bounds,
[25] And with the lost in lot.
And the life of the poor one sojourns mid the tumults of
the great one,
And the disasters of the raging one are with my footsteps.
[26] when all the snares of the Pit are opened,
Then all the nets of evil are spread out,
And the fishing net of the lost ones is upon the face of
the waters.
When all the arrows of the Pit fly forth without return,
Then they rend beyond hope.
When falls the measuring line for judgment,
[27-28] And the lot of anger against the abandoned,
And the outpouring of wrath against the hypocrites,
And the moment of wrath for all of Belial,
And the cords of death encompass without escape.
[29] Then the rivers of Belial flow over all the high banks, as
Like a fire consuming all their watering places,
[29-30] To destroy every tree, green or dry, from their channels,
And it rushes in tongues of flames until none of their
drinkers are left.
[31] The foundations of clay it consumes and the dry land
surface (raqia),
The foundations of the mountains by burning,
And the roots of flint by the rivers of pitch.
[31-32] And it devours as far as the great abyss,
And the rivers of Belial break into the nether world,
And the schemers of the abyss groan with the noise of the
writhing mud.
[32-33] And the earth cries out over the disaster which comes on
the world,
And all her schemers scream,
And all who are upon her are destroyed,
[34] And they are melted in the great disaster.
But God thunders with the sound of his strength,
[34-35] And his holy dwelling groans in this glorious truth,
And the army of heaven sends forth their voice,
And the eternal foundations are melted and shaken,
[35-36] And the war of the mighty army of heaven rushes across
the earth,
And it does not draw back until it is complete, and its
decision is forever, there is nothing like it.
